Anyone on here use this steel to make knives? Friend of mine is wanting a large camp knife blank

S30V isn't a particularly good steel for a camp knife. If for no other reason than it tends to be chippy at the edge, and camp knives are used for chopping. Perhaps FGYT would have a good view on the matter since he has used some fairly high spec alloys, and produced chopping blades.
