contact adhesive for pvc

not exactly traditional - but after seeing the helpful suggestions on the superglue thread . . .

I need to bond some PVC together - it's for a boat cover. Could do with sewing as well, but given the complex shape I think it will be a case of glueing first, preferably with a contact adhesive.

Have you tried superglue?

I had a pvc coated groundsheet made and the makers recommended superglue for sticking down patches of the same material.

+1 for superglue, it will be quicker for you, and as you are going to stitch it anyway it is only a temporary thing. I prefer the gel type (not the runny one) as it neater and safer.
Last one I got was Loctite Power Flex Control, it works well as you can control the amount really easily with the triggers on the side.

I'm intending the glue to provide a lot of the strength - there is a lot of surface area, and lot of tension.
