The thread in the Firecraft forum about fire from a coke can and a bar of chocolate and the interest in the Swedish Army trangia reminded me of this little stove I made a while ago:

I'm sure you could polish the bottom of the stove with a bar of chocolate in order to make it "self-igniting"! :)

Yep, I love um. I tried to get everybody excited about them when I discovered them, with no luck! I made my first few pressurised ones this week including a small one to fit in my Crusader unit, that one works brilliantly.

Also tried turning one into a lamp, with “mixed” results – there’s a thread around here somewhere!

Have fun and watch the eyebrows!

PS, this guy was my inspiration - http://www.minibulldesign.com/

Thanks for the link to that tutorial Leon.

I've now had several attempts - my final one resulting in a little stove that will fit the crusader unit. I timed it to boil 0.5L (about 2/3 full) in the cup (no lid) and it did it in a little under 8 minutes which I was quite pleased with. Now to make a lid.... :)

My pleasure, I have had a lot of fun making these and I thought that this was one of the better tutorials out there
:)
