On a recent trip a friend loaned me one of those chunky Yeti Rambler coffee pour over filter holders for on the road coffee. It was a boon on the trip and when we met up I made him a cup of coffee using the aforementioned filter holder.
I folded the standard Melitta style filter and put it in the holder
and made coffee to see my friend open mouthed and what I'd just done. I'd folded the paper to form a cone shape that fitted the Yeti rather than the double fold to fit standard filter coffee machines
I thought this was common knowledge but everyone it's been shown to it has been an coffee epiphany. They've just been jamming the filter in to make it fit.
I know you can get cone shaped filters but they aren't as common and before I embarrass myself do people know this or do they just jam the Melitta type filter into cone shape and crack on or do I need to show how it's done?
