Cleaning carbon steel blade ?

Wet forming a leather sheath for a carbon Mora I foolishly didn't do a good enough job of sealing the knife to keep water out , left 24 hrs to dry I unwrapped the blade and yes it is a tarnished mess . Anybody got any tips to try and return some of the lost shine to my grotty Mora ?

bung some oil on and give her a good rub with a cloth, and just realize that in the end it will patina anyway...

traditional is always good...

Its a mora... dont sweat it You will have a nightmare trying to keep it shiney.

Patina stops a blade from rusting so it serves a purpose aswell

If you want to get a shine back a bit of cutting compound or jewelers rouge on a cloth and give it a good polish

As it turns out Silvo does a pretty good job . Now it looks more like faint patina and less like metal fungus
