that's really sad news... RIP!
i remember his short appearance in "Expendables 2" (which probably doubled the ammunition budget) and him telling how he got bitten by a king cobra -- which died after 5days of agonizing pain (i'm rather fond of Chuck Norris jokes...)

86 years of being a bad bottom - good innings I think.

My Daughter was/is a Robert Redford fan girl and has in the past attended his Sundance Film Festival lectures and gatherings. People working in the film industry including those who occasionally worked as film 'Extras' who would tell inside stories about Hollywood names..
Chuck Norris scored very high marks in the popularity ratings, nice bloke, quite non Hollywood off screen apparently. More family than fame style of life away from the screen.

Nah, not having it... The only thing that could kill Chuck, is Bruce... and Bruce lost the battle to Chuck many moons ago....

Chuck celebrated his 14th birthday, 3 years before he was 11.

He has counted to infinite... twice.

Chuck doesn't do push ups, he just moves the Earth out of his way!

Chuck.....

I like the jokes, and he took them well, and apparently he was very personable (I personally never had the pleasure but know a couple who did) but he was a bit of a religious nut apparently. Didn’t stop him from doing some good things, he did a lot for disadvantaged kids, maybe a good example of how peoples legacy shouldn’t be polarized too quickly.
We should have respect for the only man who could slam a revolving door.

I certainly hope I am not judged entirely based on the views I had which people disagree with when I die.

It really seems that these days we expect everyone to be perfect based on our own belief structure, which is problematic really given we all probably have slightly different belief structures. A sort of moral puritanism.

Sounds like he lived a good life and got the best out of it, fair play to him.

i just finished reading a book about him (gift of a friend): he served 4years in the military (which is where he got introduced to martial arts) after a tough childhood; one of his brothers died in Vietnam...

Aye

You may ( if you liked that sort of thing ) want to look into the backgrounds of some of the other golden era tough guys

Steve McQueen
Lee Marvin
Burt Lancaster

David Niven is definitely worth a delve in my opinion , but I'm biased.

Would be nice.

I'm a fan of his previous work before acting and the various finishing schools he attended.

iirc Steve McQueen trained with Chuck Norris and was the one who convinced him to give acting a try...
Lee Marvin was a sniper in WW2, so he wasn't just acting the tough guy like some other actors
