Sorry, but the christmas things have been in the shops for a number of weeks now!

So what sort of things are you looking to get in your stockings this year...

Fallkniven DC3 Whetstnoe
Spoon carving knife
Gransfors Axe (Sorry Dave! But when I've learnt to use one properly I'll get one of yours...)

Mate ask for a spyderco double stuff instead or at least a DC4, I've got the DC3 and it's good but the others are just a lot easier to use!

Hmmm, Lets see

No fake plastic trees
No re-runs of shmaltzy US movies
No unattractive females staggering along in Mummy Xmas outfits thinking they look hot
No frantic consumerism
No-one in rocking chairs, wearing cardigans or singing with children like the worst kind of no***
Not to hear "I wish it could be Xmas" ever abloodygain
No "Sales"
No Eggnog
No cartoons featuring the voice of that effete Welsh bloke and an anthropomorphic pile of precipitated frozen water
No "charity" cards from people I don't gives a rats patootie about
No long printed notes from smug mothers about the activities of their sickening offspring
No imposed teeth clenchingly saccharine visits from people who I despise but to whom I am expected to behave differently towards due to a religion I don't believe in and in any case the event in question did not take place in Winter, nor did it involve trees, plum pudding, turkey, tinsel, fat weird blokes in the corporate Coco Cola colours or bloody reindeer.

......and relax

We don't celebrate it by the way :)

I'll second that. Have you noticed how Christmas seems to be compulsory now? People will 'respect' you having a different religion, or disliking sport, or whatever, but the reaction to Christmas is "Oh come on, don't be such a misery!"

My wife and I have a small mid-winter celebration, with a few gifts and a nice meal (NEVER turkey), and our enjoyment of the day would not be enhanced by stringing up lots of bits of shiny paper, so we don't bother with decorations either.

Yer miserable so and so's :) I love Xmas as long as I'm breathing, kids all grown up and have kids, I love "I wish it could be Xmas everydayyaaayyyy!"

Nothing like seeing my grankids faces when they come to ours and see large bags of goodies, even their dog gets a prezzy.

We live for our kids and don't worry about the dent in our bank accounts until January 2nd. :yikes:

I do agree but the kids love it and it's all about them anyway.Apart from the bit where I get an exped downmat.

My kid will be a lawyer shortly - she thinks its rubbish too. She comes over to us in the winter and we have nice, home made food, home made drink, log fires and long walks.

Actually I enjoy the celebration, I just hate the rampant commercialism all through the build up. We've now been trained by retailers to spend money regardless of sense. I refuse to participate. It doesn't mean I don't enjoy myself.

But if I never heard another Christmas song I would be a happy man! :D

Two things for me, a nice Cohiba and a bottle of Cognac. I keep hinting for more Cabelas socks so if i'm lucky i might get them as well, i certainly havent been good this year so i'll have to be lucky lol.

Getting to see the family is whats xmas is all about, as i have been so busy all year it will be great to catch up with everyone. We also have everyone to our house on new years day, by that time the sloe gin, elderberry vodka and alchol impregnated fruit cake will be just right, we get a turkey from work so it will get roasted and munched, brilliant

I wont quote BRs first post - I'll just content myself that there is some sanity left in the world :)

As far as 'that' time is concerned (can't ignore it as much as I might love to) at least this year I get to bathe in my first ever apple & blackberry Brandy, and SWMBOs blackberry Vodka and Sloe Gin!

i like christmas when i have done all the family visiting bit, kid is in bed, so i can sit by the woodburner next to a real tree drinking a bit of tipple and put a sh**e film on to nod off to with an over endulged stomach.

i dont really know what i would like this year socks are always a winner but i would like to get a nice stereoscopic microscope to break pellets under and study bugs in the winter dark hours...

maybe stove number 11 too hehe i think i have more chance of divorce papers than another stove...

I like: Midnight Mass, carol singing, giving and receiving pressies.

I don't like: all the commercial tat and the overeating and (especially) the overdrinking.

This year I will be celebrating Christmas in the Seychelles. No snow but lounging in the sun eating all my mother in law can cook up for me. Perfect.

I'm having a Honey Stove and Zebra billy as they have both just arrived in the post this morning.

They have been sent to Santa though before I get the chance to have a play with them !!
