Chris Caine ''Mil-Spec'' Knife inquiry

Hi, I friend of mine who's in the forces,has just asked me if I would recommend the new Chris Caine Mil-Spec survival knife for his use.
And as I don't have the Original knife and can't find any new reviews of this knife,I'd like to know if any one on here has any experience with this new knife.

My own personal thoughts are that the issue knives are perfect for the environments they are provided for, he wont normally be allowed to take a non issue knife along and would most likely he=ave it confiscated at the MP atsy point on his return unless he wants to guff around hiding it, I have no experience of the CCsurvival tool( gonna get to play with a John Wisman soon thoughEXCITED!). not a lot of help but just my pennies worth.
