Cherry Bowl and Kuksa making

Ive been itching do a spot of carving while the suns been shining, and managed to make these items recently.

We threw the bole of a gean (native wild cherry) over the fence not so long ago....really tempted to take a saw to it now

Thanks for the kind comments folks. I'm liking the curvyness of them too. Hope to do a few more this year.

Go forage for that Gean Mary. This wild cherry Im using is nice Prunus avium but Cherry plum Prunus cerasifera is even nicer to look at and often found in hedgerows and gardens around my area.

Thanks again. Ive just had to drive past loads of felled timber that was up for grabs because of being in a rush.
Its probably a good thing, these bowls are quite addictive work.
