Cheap ventile material

Pennine outdoor sell a ventile olive green cotton that is cheaper than 'Ventile'. At the moment its going for £10 a yard. Its the material that was used by Sir Edmund Hillary to climb Everest. Ventile is not very wide so you need more of it to make a jacket.

Uh, I don't think that is cheaper. From memory, ventile is sold at about 12-14 pounds depending on grade per metre, in 1.5m wide strips.

So that would be £2 to £4 cheaper then - sounds reasonable if it's first quality, though I prefer to buy wider than 90cm. Point North sell seconds grade for less at that width...

Ventile is also further down the page linked in the first post - £25.50 per metre 152cm wide.

I've used Point North before (not for Ventile). Good service, but probably best to ring up and chat.

It wouldn't be cheaper.
1 yard is not as long as a metre, and 90cm is not as wide as the 150cm strips ventile themselves sell.
