I picked up a swanni ranger in one shop f0r £6 !. It was to small for me, & I sold it on BCL(I think) for what I paid +p+p

Revisiting this thread, and the original post, has reminded me of one of my favourite quotations, which is attributed to the Norwegian Arctic Survey:
