If you have a paypal account buy it direct from him. To give you an idea how it will work a friend bought a short blade sloyd and it worked out at about £22 delivered. I am the only person that stocks any of his knives in the UK but I only keep the standard sloyd and if you are doing mail order it still works out cheaper just to get them sent direct.

Cheers Robin,

Does this not incure the wrath of the VAT man ?

Not sure about that, all I know is that quite a few folk order small orders like that from the US and they come through with no surcharge. It may be that in theory VAT or import duty should be payable. I seem to remember a thread running on British Blades about importing US knives I am sure a search there would give you the answers.

In theory VAT is indeed payable. However in my experience they don't bother with small packages. If it's in a big box then you can pretty much guarantee that it'll get charged.

The post office and parcel force seem to be alot keener to charge duty on any sized parcel since they put up their "handling" fees. Cynical, me? No....
