Another Heretic here, based on current medical advice to avoid sugar/insulin spikes. Went shopping yesterday and found Condensed just tipped over 50% sugars.
Nice tho' it is, I bought Evap.

Ah! Perhaps it could make a good bushcraft flypaper. There had to be some use for it.

Sometimes the most mundane things stick in memories, and Conny onny is one of them for me...
Back in the early 1960's I attended a course that on passing would lead to me being rated as Able Seaman in Merchant ships. There was an examination at the end of the course which was at St Katherine's Dock in London, then a working Dock, now the haunt of the rich and fashionable. The old Board of Trade qualification was overseen by retired Master Mariners and apart from Seamanship, splicing, ship's lights etc one of my final questions was..
Name the contents of the survival ration lockers in a ship's Life Boat..

per person... 16 ozs of Barley sugar.
16 ozs of Hard Biscuit
and
16 ozs of sweetened condensed milk..:laugh:
plus 3/4 gallon of fresh water

Correct..and I passed.:thumbsup:
