I'd agree with John, the Spey is awesome. I've done it from Newtonmore to Spey bay as a 5 day trip with a day off near the Cragganmore distillery. Other great trips include Loch Sheil, and of course there's Knoydart as well which gets pretty much as close as you can get to a wilderness in the UK.
Closer to home I've paddled the Thames from Lechlade to Reading and surprisingly, it's a great trip despite the plethora of cruisers. Nearer to home, the Mon and Brec Canal in Pontypool is my 'local' haunt, but on the Bristol side you've got the Avon, and of course, you could always extend the Wye trip or try the Severn.
