Can you stretch a Barmah Hat?

Fell in love with a Barmah Kangaroo hat at the Outdoors Show and need to know if they can be stretched if a little tight - The reason I ask is that, according to Barmah's measurements, i am just over a large but nowhere near an XL. Anyone know if it's possible to stretch them at all? I have to order online and so can't try them on as there are no suppliers locally.

I have that problem too. Check the inside band. if it is leather or cotton it can be strectched permanently but if synthetic then not. Short of physically stretching it with a medieval device what you can do is dampen the band befor going out and it will strecth till it dries again.

Mine fits best with a lot of sweat in it or after a dunking!

Your local shoe repair shop will sell you a small can of shoe stretching spray, if you spray this onto the hat band & the inside of the hat just before you put it on it should stretch to fit. Alternatively as it's leather it should give over time to become a perfect fit anyway (mine did)!

dunkin it in the river and then letting it dry on your head is best to shape it

I stretched mine a little but they wont stretch masses.
I tried the soak in warm water and then stretch on head wearing a buff or something on your head and then let dry slowly method.

Did stretching your Barmah hat work for you? If so, how much would you say it stretched?
