your house!
this was our haul from mondays forage over the road, there were three times as many blackberries, but the boy was in charge of the basket for the first two bushes:)

It smells pretty maritime around here, it's being raining heavily for around 48 hours.

3 years ago it was november before any leaves changed colour, 2 years ago it was september, now its the start of august. I was out in shorts and t shirt in mid march this year. Seems to me like our calendars are out of Sync again. I reckon winter is going to be hard this year.

Are they downy rose Sandbender? what do you do with them, I have identified the same plant round here too if it is, wondered what they would be good in!

Yes I think they are downy rose but I'm not sure, we usually turn it into a thick black preserve which can keeps for years (we opened a four year old jar to spread on our toast this morning), I'll look out the recipe and post it.

:)

We're spending a week in Wales next week and I've just looked at a forecast. The day time temperature is expected to be in the mid teensC which more like October.

Yep: Came out of house this morning, and there was the distinct but hard to describe autumn smell in the air. Swallows all huddled on the phone wires. Which makes a change from them 'bombing' my bike. Lots and lots of sloes, hardly any blackberries, plum tree laden but not fully ripe. I think hoping for a long hot summer can now be officially cancelled!

Just came back from a VW dubstock meet for w/e and then extended it to a few nights at a campsite overlooking the sea (cliff top) in Aberystwith and the weather made it feel like it already was here !

Just picked about 300 Brambley's. Going to Flog them at a local Fair next week.

Got about 300 left on fer ourselves.... Usually get about 12 of the tree...

This year has been a bit strange.....:)

My wife-to-be and I have been noticing this too, it started just with stuff like thinking about wearing jumpers, and buying cocoa, and feeling like eating soups and stews more, and then noticing the leaves and general weather changing. Autumn's definitely making itself known this year! Wouldn't be surprised if it was a rough winter. (There's talk of white walkers... ;) )
