Hi All,

I may be the last person to find out about this but whilst watching a clip on youtube a guy was demonstrating a technique of rigging a hammock using "rappell rings" which basically provides easy set up, good tension and negatates the need for any type of knot (apart from a stopper).

After searching long and hard for these rings i have not been able to locate any excpet for one website in the states which is pricey and postage is about 4 times the value of the rings.
Well i was browsing evilbay last night and came accross these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/260825745719?ssPageName=STRK:M EWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 which seem a pretty good alternative so have just ordered 4.

Will hopefully be out for a short trip soon and wil try to do a short review on them.

Cheers, Hamster

Bugger and double bugger, didnt even think of trying DD and completely missed the link at the end of the video.

serves me right for just searching for rappel rings and not trying other words, still very effective way of setting up as ive not yet tried whoopee slings.

I use the metal buckles that come with canoe tie down straps for my suspension system- instantly adjustable, and no knots either- and about a fiver for a complete suspension system (minus the krabs which i already had). Buckles similar to this:

The polypropelene webbing that comes with the straps is ideal- strong and almost no stretch, and the buckles double as drip rings.
