Somewhere, in these hallowed pages, is a thread about a bushy version of the Klingon tarp gripper ~ I'm pretty sure it pre-dates the commercial version's wide spread availability. IIRC, the thread in question is pre may 2008.

I've searched for _quite some time_ ~ using both forum search and site:) to no avail  ~ can anyone point me in the correct direction?

Thanks in advance.

I remember something involving (If I remember correctly) 2 bits of wood (hazel?) and a matchstick for putting tension on a tarp...

or there's the split Hazel stick for pegging a tarp to a structure that Mors demonstrated at the Moot a few years back..

The pictures are gone, but here's the post by fenlander.

You can probably figure it out from the description :

The clothes clip was something of an experiment.

I removed the bark from a piece of willow and then split the willow in half. I cut a small "V" notch into each piece where the pivot will sit. Then lashed the pivot in place with the willow bark.

I cut a wedge from another piece of the willow to force the "teeth" of the clip closed.

Once the wedge is in, it holds the item tightly.

Here I'm using one to hang up my coat, but they can also be used on a tarp.

and this is the split-stick for clipping a tarp to a frame :
