Ok folks, please can I have your recommendations for Bushcraft Instructor Courses?

I've seen a few now but would welcome your input as I will be signing up for one shortly (just not sure which one yet!).

Thanks

Chris

As far as I know there's only Woodcraft School who do an instructors course, have you found others then ?

I spoke to Ben at Woodsmoke who said he'd be able to put together a similar package, but time and finances (or lack of) meant I didn't progress it any further.

Hi
link below for discussion about Instructors Courses
I have completed the Woodcraft Instructors Course and cannot recommend it highly enough, but read comments made by others as it is up to personnel choice.
If you get a chance to get to the Widerness gathering this weekend most of the major bushcraft schools are there including Woodcraft

Survival School also does its own Instructors course. I have done the Woodcraft course but have friends who have done the Survival School course and they thoroughly enjoyed it.

The details can be found here http://www.survivalschool.co.uk/ind...page.tpl&pop=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=9

Dave Watson at Woodland Survival Crafts does some specialist traing. Details at http://www.woodlandsurvivalcrafts.com/training.php

Lastly you can get IOL accreditation as a recognised Bushcraft Instructor if you have good skills and teaching ability. Cannot get the details but i am sure someone will.

Cheers and good luck

Folks, thanks very much for your advice and knowledge. Dave Watson (IOL Chairman/Woodland Survival Crafts) pointed me in the direction of Survival School (Jonny Crocket) whom I rang earlier today. Suffice to say that I will be joining the next weekend course with Jonny and co In October with a view to it being part one of their training course. My aim now (and it's achievable) is to complete the instructors course and gain Practitioner IOL status by the end of July 2010.

Then I'll do the IOL Approved Bushcraft Trainers' Assessment and take things from there - move over Ray! :)

Sadly though I won't be at the Wilderness Gathering this year (again!) as it clashes with a family holiday. We WILL however be going next year!

To those of you who have completed instructor courses I'd love to speak more with you and gain your advice on the whole process. Anything I can learn can only help.

Good luck with the course Chris.

I hope you enjoy it?

I am sure there are a few guys on this forum that have done Johnny's course, Mark Oriel being one. He is a good guy to drop a PM and have a chat with.
