The wood gas stove is taz220sdi pictured above and it's amazing the best stove I have ever seen. I use a hobo set up which is a multi fuel set up. So it will burn wood or a trangia or hobo meths burner can be used. What stove set up do you use markinlondon?

I've decided to use/abuse my Swedish Army Trangia until it's completely destroyed. It wants a stress test, so I'm going to stress it. I do, though collect old brass stoves, do it's likely that one day I'll bring an Optimus 8R or Svea 123. I love those stoves.

Hello all so I have discovered these beauties in my green house there metal and I am thinking of using the for a communal grill. The idea I had was to stick four in the ground over a fire and place a grill on the hooks at the end of them. Trouble is I don't have a grill. Does anyone fancy bring a grill alone to help the cause. Off a BBQ or anything you have??

I'm happy to get out this weekend! It looks like the weather will be sunny until Sunday midday. I'm also looking forward to trying out my Cegga axe and a few other new bits and bobs. With any luck, Steve will have a Bunny Apocolypse and the day will become truly bizarre.

Hi All,

1. It's looking doubtful whether the planned shoot will go ahead on Friday the ground is waterlogged and the client doesn't want anyone on it (final confirmation tomorrow, but unless I post otherwise please assume that you'll have to go to plan B as I won't be putting any bunnies in the pot on this occasion).

2. I have a couple of 'plastic' tarps which I can bring along to form a communal/ fire sheltered area, but have limited cordage so if someone can bring some then we can rig something up.

3. I have a small circular grill from my bbq which I can bring to suspend from TomColes metal stakes, but it is small so if anyone has anything substantial (and rectangular or square) then it would probably be better.

Looking forward to it!!

Cheers

Steve

I have found a small but thin rectangle grill/great I thi kit will last the night as long as it doesn't get too hot as it's a thin gauge. It's big enough to cook a couple of steaks on which I will be doing :) everyone's welcome to use it as well will just have to take it in turns.

Has everybody got their kit sorted for the weekend then? I popped down to see the ladies at tht stables today and the horse fields are looking quite muddy! I'm sure the woods will be fine though :)

Mostly packed, gear choices made, I have terrible problems with 'redundancy', my natural inclination is to bring a spare/ back-up everything (it's the Project Manager in me!).

Slowly getting better at cutting out what I repeatedly don't use and finding kit that doesn't work for me, part of the fun obviously!

Looking forward to this, hope someone can bring some extra cordage for the tarps.

Cheers
Steve

My pack is stuffed full and I am bringing a bag of good and drink. But I never had any intention of going light. I am going comfortable. Fed and watered like a king 😄.
