I got hold of this Brades # 2 axe a couple of weeks ago at my local boot market.
As you can see it is well rusty and the head is upside down.
After a clean up it looks a good useful tool.
I quite like the shape of the old haft, not too much of a curve in it, plus a good length.
Sitting alongside it in the second photo is a Gem # 2 .
The oak wood that they are sitting on would make three hafts the same shape as the original, but only two of the thicker type that I normally make, I am undecided as to what to do.
I'll wait a couple of days before I decide.
