Hi all , this my first post on this site and have an interest in old axes.I am sure my question has been asked before on here somewhere but I can't find it yet.Can someone tell me about Brades 571 axes .When were they made and what were they made to do? Anything else you can think of would be great.Cheers

Hi all, after cleaning this axe head up I have discovered it's a Brades 1571 not a 571 as first thought . So what can anyone tell me about this 4 pound axe head ? Cheers KS

Hi & welcome to the forum. As far as I know Brades & Co Ltd were based in Sheffield here in the UK.They also made some of the Fireman axes that were issued to the UK fire service years ago.
