I too am about to embark on the bow making quest, but probably over a longer timeframe. My schedual is pretty full, but I have always wanted to make a bow and arrows and harvest a deer with my on bow, arrows and chipped points.
This will be the first time that I have built a bow capable of anything larger than small game.
For now, researching and gathering materials. Little by little, one piece and then another.

BTW...My marraige is safe or even stronger for it. My good wife tells the kids to go outside and help dad.... .... .... Well, we have fun. They love the mountains and the deserts and all we do there.
