I was at a wedding the weekend and was surprised to see a Victorinox knife stand in a gift shop airside. Granted, it was Geneva but I was still miffed that I had to put mine in the hold with an albeit slim chance, of it being lost/stolen

I flew out of Heathrow for years with a small Ruike folder. There is a rule for sub 60mm (I think, don't quote me, check), so small SAK can be okay. Different airports, different rules. What is fine flying out from London to New York would get confiscated flying back from New York to London.
