I am pondering getting a lighter weight bivvi bag for occasional use in remote areas, when I don't want to lug my DPM one about with me.

I have narrowed the choice down to the Alpkit Hunka, or the Snugpak bivvi (NOT the SF version). The alpkit looks well regarded from the forum posts I can find, but I can't seem to find anyone using the regular snugpak bivvi bag.

Does anyone have one? How does it perform?

I am 5'6"ish, but I do find the British DPM bivvi to be somewhat cavernous.

Thanks

J

Hi,
I got myself a brand new American gore-tex bivvi bag for£37.50 off that notorious auction site who shall remain nameless.
I love it. It has a zip down one side, is mummy shaped, and the colour is really great too. I now always use this as part of my sleep system, placing the inflating mat inside it, and when it's really cold a very thin foil/foam mat too.

It's all down to personal choice but I rate this bit if kit.
