Birch Bark Canoe - the real deal

Just reading Nugget's thread on his canoe building project made me think of this film from the 70's.

If it's been posted before I apologise but the film (about an hour long) is just magnificent to watch. I hope Cesar passed on his skills.

the nfb of canda have some great stuff albert falie is on ther some where and he is mentioned in a nuber of rmpatersons books all bill masons fils are on there and loads of other bits it a fantastic resorce

It's a classic film. There are 2 parts that make me laugh - one where the dog falls off the ladder and the second is where Cesar just uses his thumbs to smooth molten resin and fat to seal the seams on the canoe. All I can say is that he must have had thumbs of heat resistant leather.
