Come and join us and Forest Knights who are the only Bushcraft school in the UK teaching Bhutanese bow-making. We’re excited to have them run this course for us at the BushMoot (You do not need to be attending the BushMoot to attend this course).
The joy of using large-diameter Bamboo is that by using an axe, drawknife and simple tools, you can shape your bow effectively in a day.
During the day, you'll split the bamboo with a Froe, shape the two bow limbs with an axe and drawknife, and join them together. Each bow is a unique creation, tailored specifically for you. This personalised approach is what makes our course special, and we consider the Bows finished when you get your bow to full draw. You'll also make an arrow and a bow string, because a bow without a string and an arrow is just a stick.
