Yep. That's actually cheese that's been highly "processed" and it's the "cheese food product" that I mentioned. It's also called "American Process" cheese. It's "adequate" for a quick cheese sandwich for the kids (especially a grilled cheese sandwich) or on a cheeseburger cause it's cheap and melts easily. But even then it's not the best choice at all.

It's never used in actual cooking.

LOL. Not quite plastic. The texture is actually pretty good for how it's used; it's the taste that's lacking.
