There are many different ways you can make a berry picker but this is just a design i came up with which uses a packet of kabab skiewers and some discs of wood.
Start off by cutting some disks of wood. I used discs with a 7cm diamiter.
On one of the discs draw a border about 1cm in from the edge with a pencil. Then drill a large whole in the centre and remove all the wood up to the border line with a small chisel.
Finish off the discs by sanding them
Now crack open your kabab skiewers packet and find a drill peice which is the same diamiter as one of your Skiewers.
Drill wholes a suitable distance apart around the edge of one of your disks.
When you have drilled all the way around one of your disks place it on top of the other. Now get a pin and put it through the wholes to ***** the disk of wood that is underneath. This should leave a mark to show you where you should drill on your next disc so that the wholes match up correctly.
Once you have drilled all the wholes for the kabab skiewers to fit into, you can begin to fit your them.
Just do one at a time and glue them into their wholes with some wood glue.
Finally when they are all in you may decide to clip the tops slightly so that you dont have deadly points which may damage the fruit. (this is optional, Having spikes may allow the berry picker to glide through the leaves better.)
You may also wish to oil the disks of wood with food friendly oil. I used veg oil.
And there you have it!
