Nice little project to help with the heat, wooden fans, made with the same techniques as the fan birds i also make, the fans are one piece of wood, no tricks, no pins, no glue, just riven wood.

What do you use for riving? Clearly too small for a froe.

I use a Flexcut drawknife these days, but when i first started doing them i just used my Opinel No.8

I can probably do one at some time in the future as everything i need is in the workshop and i can't physically get out there at present, i'll put it on the list of future projects though

Cheers Steve, was a bit on the warm side wasn't it, thankfully down here on the coast it clouded over in the afternoon so we were spared the worst of it, i know where my nephew is in Dorset he felt the heat somewhat being that much further inland.
