So I'm interested in any mods people may have done with this bergen?

Iv added sternum straps so far


I think a German Army mat might slip in beside the frame but I'm not sure

I have added plce zips to the front of my vulcan and extra pockets on top of a pair of plce pouches for little bits and bobs

I've tapped cut up strips of old kipmat to the shoulder straps since the padding in mine has packed down over the years, makes it a bit more comfortable. Also tapped the hip belt out of the way.

Yeah wasn't sure about the hip belt,mine is minus the male buckle anyway and is tucked away because of this,think I like sternum straps more than hip belts,will need to see how I feel when I load her up.

Attach a key-fob sized Led torch to the top draw string - helps when searching for things after dark.
Add paracord tails to the zip pulls, makes for easier opening with cold hands or when wearing gloves - I tend to make the tails out of red/orange cord for the pocket where my FAK normally lives.

I have the British Army Issue P.L.C.E. Infantry Bergen
I've added a chest Strap,
A flat sewn pocket on the lid, so my Bergen cover has a place to live.
In between the side pocket zips I have 3 channels on one side (for my Axe and 2x Hiking Poles)
On the other side in between the zips I have a mesh pocket, (makes a great Stash pocket for my Goretex Jacket)
And some 3M reflective tape sewn here and there so I can find it when its dark and so Cars can see me when I'm carrying it, that's why I have the Cover (It hides the Reflective tape for when i want to be sneaky beakey.
