Howdy chaps, Really liked the look of the canvas belt pouch Woodlore sell, and had that magic 'I can make that' thought, so had a play with some old Dickies work wear light weights I had kicking around.

Pieces cut out, will use the fly for the pouch zipper. the other bits were taken from one leg, I took the measurements off the Woodlore pouch and added a couple cm each side for an overlap to sew.

I made a double layered belt loopand stitched that onto the back panel first, then started to attatch the zipper .

then just sew round adding the panels as you go, till you end up with something like this.

Embellish the front if you wish, I thought as it came from the trousers it's not a false claim to call it a Dickies pouch. you can see the marking out, nice and simple.

Sew on the front, this will be easier due to the back holding the shape of the pouch already.

Before you sew the last bit make sure you open the Zip, then sew, trim off the ragged edges and threads, turn Outside in, and you'll have a pouch for what ever you want, mine will be a first aid kit.

Hope you like it and have a go yourself.

Really nice work there, nice design. May well have to have a go at something like that as I have never carried a belt pouch but it does look handy.

Thanks for sharing...

Cheers guys! It is very simple and the best bit is all my messy stitch work is hidden inside, gonna have a go at an axe and buck saw sling like Shewie's this weekend me thinks.

Nice one mate, not as technical as that but i used a old pair of army trousers to make a sleeve for my bow saw and a pouch for.my mess tins and one for my crusader cup, and to think my missis was going to throw them out. I might have some pics someware. Nice one southey

Biker

Bushcrafter (boy, I've got a lot to say!)
Nice pouch!
And Biker a Maker too!
Too much for one morning!
:D

y'welcome Southey and John.
Yeah I upgraded to Maker. I felt that thread Tony put up was aimed squarely at me. Obviously it wasn't but as I read it I felt guilty, not sure why so I just upgraded. This way I can seel 8 items per month, if I want to and not feel as though I'm taking the pi$$. I think it was the coincidence of posting that BCUK unofficial canteen with the logo on it. It was old kit of mine but I'd "made" it my own. Still, it's better to be on the safe side and not upset the boss. I figured it's also worth it because I enjoy BCUK so much.

So yeah it's now Maker Biker to the rest of you ingrates. Also known as "Sir" ... oh this power rush is nice!

As for what I'll be making. How does a downloadable PDF Bushcraft Betty Calendar sound? Yes, I'm working on one. Stay tooned.

Cheers matey! but there is nothing technical here! it's just a loop of material stitched to two rectangles, nothing more nothing less. It's great making stuff init! Gonna keep practising till I can make something akin to Mr Fenna's ace smock!

Its technical compared to my quick fix mate. Trouser legs already had pull cords at the bottom and the leg pocket fit my mess tins. Took about two min.
Think i might have a go at something like yours though, i just cant stop making mate
