Bees Wax Smoke smell

i got some bee wax and it smells burnt and smokey

any idea why or is there anything i can do to it??

It depends how it was rendered - the wax does not smell smokey naturally but if it was rendered over a fire or perhaps even overheated during rendering I guess it might acquire such a smell.
