Shh, Barlows are boring. ;)
Of the five knives that are in the picture that I posted yesterday, all have been EDC from time to time.

I bought he stag handled one when I was on a trip back to Sheffield, flying with only a cabin bag, so couldn't take a pocket knife with me. That one stayed for several years at my mum's house so that I'd have it available when on trips back there. But it's over here in France, now... I'll just have to buy another if I fly back lightweight again.

The one that was carried least frequently is the Rodgers trapper; it's nice and slim but feels heavier in the pocket.

Well my knife arrived this morning and as you can see it isn't a Barlow.
But that's my fault I saw the Blade shape and scales, it's basically a farmers knife with a Lambsfoot blade with dark blue Imation scales. the blades centered with no blade play a good pull and click the pins are flat and there isn't a problem with transition the fit and finish is better than alot of 50 quiders I've owned. as for the Steel it say's stainless who know's it was sharp enough for work but it took abit to get it to paper cutting and it still frays.
All for £11.99 with afew quid postage what can you expect for this price the only real issue is that it isn't a Barlow but as I said thats my fault and sending it back would be to costly, so it's gonna be a user.

Looks useful.
It’s not a paper knife so why sweat that?

I think you made an excellent decision.
Enjoy it for all the things that it does.

The other knives on the site where I brought this from either had no Bolster or a very small ring type so when I spotted this one with the larger one and the blade shape and especially the price I jumped in

Yeah that's the 1 I just didn't want to do advertising.
And the other types of knives I looked at were from bakewell not this site I've looked at that many shops I thought it was from here.
Cheers

My RR Cinnamon Barlow came earlier and I'm quite impressed for what the £23.99 buys you a very well put together good looking and factory sharp edge. the fit and finish is better than some fifty quiders I've owned.
But wow that clip point isn't the sort of thing I'd want to be seen with sat on my local woodland park bench's peeling a apple a tad more pointing than the old mans Lambsfoot.

A clip point blade is totally traditional on a Barlow pattern knife, a lambsfoot blade is not.

Anyway, you shouldn't be peeling your apples; most of the goodness is in the skin.

That certainly looks nice and if the whole hinge area is metal it probably would take any normal EDC needs. Maybe I have to start changing my suspicion of folders. (I guess I have half a dozen from various parts of Europe :) )

The whole hinge area being made of metal? Folders made like this have been around for many decades at this point TLM! Not usually as sleek as Ostap Hel's designs, but the use of titanium and steel in folders is very much established.
