salt, pinch of
baking powder, one finger scoop of,
chopped sweet chestnut, slack handfull
raspberries, slack handfull
full fat milkpowder, 1x handfull,

add water and punch till a dough appears,
YOU GOT TO HAAAAATE!
wrestle it in a little flour to coat the out side enough to be dry to the touch,
WIV YOUR WHOLE BEING! HAAAAATE!
headbutt into dutchoven and apply some HEAT!

EAT IT! and get out of my sight, NOOOOOOOW!

Some flour
Some suet
enough water to make a stiff dough - that's the base mixture

... to which you can add any of the following
baking powder
sugar
salt
milk powder
dried fruit - mixed, raisins, currants, even "mincemeat, fruit filling
fresh fruit - blackberry, elderberry raspberry etc.
herbs - just about anything
garlic
nuts
cheese

Whatever you have available and takes your fancy

Just a quick question!!!! All the recipes state flour - is that Plain or Selfraising Flour???????

personally i use either, self-raising is just plain with baking powder added i believe. if i do use plain i add baking powder.

500g self raising flour
1 can (around 330ml) beer.
salt

Mix it up to a doughy consistency. You may need more more flour/beer to get it right.

Cook. You can either bake this in a dutch oven, or wrap it on a stick and cook over an open flame.

2 teaspoons of cinnamon
as much raisins as you can possibly get into it

Here goes...
You can tweak it a bit to simplify for campfire cooking.. I make the mix up in a bag before I go to a meet ... You can use those ikea food bags to mix in and some of those disposible plastic gloves they wear in high street food shops help to avoid getting messy hands when mixing!;)

to make approx ten.

600g strong white bread flour (plus extra for dusting).
1 heaped teaspoon sea salt.
2 heaped tablespoons of baking powder.
1 teaspoon caraway seed (my ingredient).
6 tablespoons olive oil.

mix flour, salt, baking powder and herbs in a large bowl (use a fork). Make a well in centre, pour in some olive oil & 150ml warm water.
Use fork & bring in flour from the edge.
Add more water if it is too dry..
Wet hands & make a ball of dough.
Dust hands & on a clean surface knead dough until it's smooth and elastic (5-10 mins).

Dust dough with flour & cover then leave to relax..
Divide dough into equal amounts, oil hands & squeeze to flatten.. Dust as you go.
Turn twist pat and slap them (each one should be 1cm ish thick!)

Cook for a few mins.

enjoy.
