I remember when they were just a decent hardware/tool shop in the town of Axminster (Devon) :)

One of my first visits to the shop (when they only had the one!) involved me rummaging through their wood store and then wandering around the town trying to find my way back to the actual shop with £100+ worth of wood so that I could pay for it!

I still buy stuff from them but haven't been to an actual store in years

Been chatting to them about some of their tools/machinery, trying to get a better understanding of what I might need for my purposes. They've been very helpful and forthcoming with information.
It's nice to be able to contact a company relatively easily, and speak to someone who is knowledgeable about their products.

I'll put an order in with them. Thanks for the input.

I have two of Axminsters all steel chisels that I've had for yonks now.
Proper solid things and its worth noting just how big they are before buying as they're getting on for timber framers slick size.
Big chisel.

Always had good interactions with them. Their own brand tools are normally good quality at a good price. I’ve had Jet lathes, their own “seig “ type engineering lathes and sanders etc for them, never a problem.
