As long as I've been using an axe I've been making do with a duff, heavy, blunt excuse for an axe, but this year I recieved an early Christmas present (courtesy of the extremely fast delivery service woodlore use, my dads job and my curiosity) in the form of a nice shiny Gransfors Bruks wildlife hatchet. On trying it out I was dumbfounded by the difference in quality between the two axes. I even managed to make a spoon with the new one. I new that Gransfors Bruks were good, but I didnt expent them to be that good. I've been shaving fire sticks all day.

My wife gave me the GB mini hatchet as an early gift. Here again the GB was the best hatchet I had ever used. Cut wood amazingly well for such a small hatchet. It also does a nice job cutting meat in camp. It is small enough to use like an Eskimo ulu.

Gransfors produce great equipment. Just be careful, they can make an impression on you. (I've got the scars to prove it!). :lmao:
With my old axe I cut my finger while carving a spoon and it just bruised and cut some skin off, it was healed in three days.If I'd been using a gransfors bruks then I'd be minus a right forefinger tip!
