Having a bit of a maddy with making stuff these days, one of the guys on SotP asked me to do a couple of axe masks for him. Never done any before so happy to give it a go.... 
This one is a wee one for his pack axe, replacing a weird plastic thing. The next one is for a somewhat larger Elwell.... Pretty simple design, no stitching just rivets, which is probably why I got complacent and messed up the first one 
I cut the strap too short and didn't centre the popper properly. Tried to drill out the copper rivet securing the strap but ended up burning the leather 
Bin! Ho hum. Next one was better. It's supposed to be black (that's what is said on the bottle!!) But looks kinda very dark purpley brown, anyone any ideas on how to get a proper black, dye it brown first??
