Having a bit of a maddy with making stuff these days, one of the guys on SotP asked me to do a couple of axe masks for him. Never done any before so happy to give it a go.... :D This one is a wee one for his pack axe, replacing a weird plastic thing. The next one is for a somewhat larger Elwell.... Pretty simple design, no stitching just rivets, which is probably why I got complacent and messed up the first one  I cut the strap too short and didn't centre the popper properly. Tried to drill out the copper rivet securing the strap but ended up burning the leather :banghead: Bin! Ho hum. Next one was better. It's supposed to be black (that's what is said on the bottle!!) But looks kinda very dark purpley brown, anyone any ideas on how to get a proper black, dye it brown first??
