My hands are raw and blistered, they've had steel filings worked into the skin, and I think I've put on a few pounds of muscle in my right arm... but I am chuffed nonetheless!

I cut it out of a meat cleaver I had lying around with a silicon-carbide tile saw (i lost my hacksaw  )
Took quite a while to anneal, then about an hour and forty-five minutes to cut it out, and a while longer to do the rough bevel, but 'twas worth it in my humble opinion.
Cutting edge of about 4 3/4 inches, overall length is 9 1/2. Dunno whether it'll actually be any good, no idea what kind of steel it is. We'll see once I've hardened it!
Anyhoo; I'm off to bed!

Night folks ;)

Great work Draven,
The finished item will be a pleasure to use, further enhanced by the knowledge that you have made it youself.
