In dayglo orange, but well worth that sort of money IMO, if you're looking for a compact, light, fairly solid, cheap-as-chips tent.

I bought one of these from Argos a few years ago:

I have had tons of use out of it. It's really little more than a bivvi shelter. Since I tend to use it in cold/wet weather I also rig the tarp over it as well (securing the back edge of the tarp with the same pegs that hold the rear of the tent down) with the tarp coming over the top to form a large porch (and also subduing the light grey colour of the tent). It only cost a tenner, and packed down to no bigger than two toilet rolls.
Not the best tent in its own right, to be honest; but for how I use/d it then I'd say it was ten quid well spent.
Don't think Argos do them anymore.

I bought my son one in green at a similar sale price a few years ago (if he trashes it so what), apart from a rather puny zip that needs replacing it is OK for when you dont need anything too specialist (he's got a mountain tent for that). Several other people I know that use them for 'packing added extra pegouts and reckon they are well worth the money. If nothing else there are not many alloy poled tents at that price.

i brought one of these a few days ago as one of my eldest sons christmas presents.
at 10 years old i think he will love it, and at 18 quid its bargain of the year as far as i'm concerned :)

Have you had a 'dry run' yet and inspected it?

Just wanted to know what you thought of the quality? and the interior size for your normal beer swilling bush boy -Me.

Is it cramped for a 6 footer?

I bought two a couple of weeks ago for the kids christmas presents. I checked them and they are fairly spacious, I was surprised.

Quality wise, what do you want for £18, I had to take one back as a tag was missing (I could have replaced it myself, but as its for a gift) but it looks OK other than that, the finishing could be tidier I guess.

As they will be getting them for christmas I fully expect them to be camping in them for the whole of January :D so I'll know then how waterproof they are!

I've had a green one for a couple of years. The zip's the weak point. I bought an orange one earlier this year as a back up. it's worth replacing the zip and I'll do it when I get around to it. Or realistically, when I can persuade the wife to do it!

The poles are very good and the pegs lightweight. I've sealed the seams in mine - not that they leaked, just did it as a matter of course. It's been out in some fairly mucky weather and kept myself and kit nice and dry. No complaints from me for the cash.

I was having a butchers at one at Achray, they look pretty good for the money. Shame there's only orange ones left now.
