I've got one in my woodshed. Been there for 10 yrs plus. No problems.
It does owe me the end of a thumb though.
T'was just the very tip of my left thumb. I was incredibly lucky.
I was holding the kindling (Don't do that any more) and it split a bit more readily than I was expecting. I felt it knock my thumb, looked, saw claret, ran inside and wrapped it in a wad of kitchen roll. Didn't dare look at it for about 30 minutes for fear of what I would find.
