Hmmm, that one looks excellent: http://www.madbomber.com/product-p/305rx.htm

I got one from here a couple of years ago, good quality and if i remember correctly the postage wasn't too bad......

Damn! £25! I paid twice that, and it was half price! Wish I'd asked before I bought one now!

I dont like buying fur and feathers from China, as I've seen too many videos of unbelievably cruel methods of despatching animals they have in certain provinces. And doing my own fly tying, Ive got a quite a lot of fur and feathers.
[Dont really want to support skinning animals alive, then throwing them on a pile, still alive.]
Rabbits, squirrels and such, I buy froma local guy whose shot them and tanned the hides himself.
I read after I bought it that my Woolrich one is chinese farmed rabbit.
Maybe the hats are made in America, and thats why they are more expensive? I might send em an email and ask.

i got this one last year http://www.furhatworld.com/shearling-sheepskin-trapper-hat-black-napa-p-1823.html and it keeps you warm n toasty in any weather ! Also have a look at these bargins- http://www.furhatworld.com/mouton-sheepskin-trooper-hat-black-p-2303.html / http://www.furhatworld.com/rabbit-fur-aviator-hat-copper-p-1269.html / and this one just to look and dream for lol / http://www.furhatworld.com/silver-fox-full-fur-russian-hat-p-1517.html or maybe a Grizzly Adams lol ? / http://www.furhatworld.com/coyote-fur-mountain-man-hat-full-coyote-pelt-p-331.html.

The usuall applies just a happy customer.

p.s i find that if the hat has a quilted inside that when u sweat it turns cold quick as it cannot go anywhere that is why the one i bought has sheepskin molton fur inside to and it just wicks the sweat away before it becomes cold and uncomfortabe !

cheers andrew.

That cheap one at the bottom is £25 because its sourced from China, yet, I found out after I bought it, that my Woolrich one was chinese farmed rabbit as well.

Yep, I only discovered the unethical practises of some Chinese manufacturers after i'd purchased. I think it's difficult these days to get down, rabbit fur etc from the major manufacturers that isn't sourced in China. Looking on the net The North Face are now only using ethically sourced down from geese used for meat where as a couple of years ago it seems their down may have come from 'live plucking' , by their own admission. I wonder how many more of the big companies still use down collected using this method?

I got one of the last Fjalraven Polar Heaters that used real rabbit Dave.
Merino and Possum beanie for sleeping in and when the wind is not blowing.

Best.

I got a rabbit fur ushanka a while ago but it's always been far too warm for me. If anyone is interested in one at a cut down price, message me with an offer because I doubt I'll use it in the future! They're good quality hats but a beanie is usually enough for me in winter.
