Anyone familier with www.helsport.com as i like the look of this companys Lavvu type tents,i guess our Swedish/Norwegian/Danish bushcrafty types may know better than anyone else.
So is it a good quality product in your opinion?innocent bystander said:I've got the 4-6 man Varanger Lavvu. It's big and roomy, but probably no better than any other i guess....They're not cheap either if you go for the complete set up - outer, inner and groundsheet, but then the most of the others aren't either.....
And you have absolutely no hope of carrying one either...![]()
Norwegian mate of mine of mine told me pretty much the same thing, hes not much of an outdoors enthusiast so he cannot tell me too much about them but he will post me gear over if i ask him.Thought i would try and pick you learned folks brains a little before i ask him to post me anything.arctic hobo said:I posted this question a while back, didn't get too much response. You'll have trouble getting hold of their kit in the UK although in XXL in Oslo they seem to stock everything Helsport have ever made![]()

Big bag is the tent, smallest is the groundsheet and the middle size s the inner tent. The other is the pole. You could compress it all in the large bag though..
Baccy tin for scale.

Another company to have a look atoutdoor said:I live in Denmark and have my own outdoorshop with Frisport lavvus(and soon The new Beacon lavvu).
Helsport is a nice lavvu-tent, so is the Frisport lavvu. But I did choose to sell the Frisport lavvu in my shop. I know the Frisport tent and it is in a very nice material and quality. You can make a fire INSIDE the Frisport Lavvu because of the alu-material used in the coating. Please notice that the brand Wolf-camper may be cheaper, but the quality...- I know of a lot of disapointed scouts. And I have heard some things about the Helsport too, but who knows...
I just saw a new productline called Beacon presented to me in my shop. It´s a cheaper version of the Frisport lavvu, but the quality is still in top, but offcourse not the same as theextreme lavvu´s from Frisport. But I know that both lavvus are good for the danish weatherconditions with a lot of wind and rain. If have off course tried the Frisport lavvu myself
I can help you with some prices from Denmark:
A Frisport lavvu "Andersnatten" is about 566 euros (you can see this at www.frisport.com)
The Beacon lavvu "Forrest" is only about 346 euros.
I don´t know if you can buy the Frisport and Beacon lavvus in the UK at the moment. I know that there is no direct customersale in Denmark, but maybe you should try to contact Frisport in Denmark to hear if there is any dealers in the UK or they can send the lavvu directly to you?
look at the contactinformations at www.frisport.com.
Please let me know if there is anything I can help you with regarding lavvus.
