Guys,
Im looking at the islands in the ketelmeer for a trip in the kayak. These islands appear to be built from the slurry dredge from the ijssel but aprt from the wildlife there soenst appear to be anything there. So..
I will probabaly take a day trip out to check one or two out but they might be good for huhum overnachcting. Of cours you will need some sort of boat to get there..

Does anybody know if these islands are forbidden to visit?

Hey squantrill,

I bit late my answer I’m afraid, but better late than never....:D

It's a bit unclear to me if they’re open for recreation purposes at the moment, but I doubt if you want to stay in that area.....

According to numerous websites the area is heavy polluted over the years. The say it's not dangerous for people to stay in that area, but it absolutely rules out eating fish and drinking water (heavy metals, PCB's and PAH's) there.

Just so you know, still work in progress apparently.....;)
