Any one tried the new Stihl 1926 forest hatchet?

Just received the new stihl catalogue and like the look of the 1926 forest hatchet, does anyone have one, if so what is it like
. Looks like it might be Ok as a carver

I can see how the toe extending above the head could improve it's performance as a carver, but i doubt there is much difference between the 1926 version and the new forest hatchet, other than more traditional aesthetics and 25 quid. If you were thinking of going for it, I'd suggest you get the standard version and just strip the paint off.

They are re branded bahco axes at twice the price, Bahco axes are good once the edge is sorted.

Its also the same axe that Argos used to sell for £3. My favourite axe.

Ah, fair enough. I looked at the wrong one. Still, not much difference in them, not much at all other than paint and the top of the bit. Yeah it looks like it could make a decent carver (based on how it looks) :)
