Antlerknife

Just got a copy of Antlerknife by Ulf Avander from Attleborough

Very good indeed.

The production is not too glossy but the information is solid and easy to follow.

No info on blade smithing but plenty on antler and leatherworking to make these beautiful knives.

Think I'll have to have a go now with one of Stefans blades.......

I bought a really nice one with a forged blade in Karasjok laste Summer for less than 3000Kr.

By the way Torjus. you asked about the knife I was making at Borg and I finally got around to sorting the picture out.

Of course it's a bit sad now because Stefan, the blade smith died last Autumn in a hunting accident.

That is some knife Wayland! It may be one of the cooles knives I have seen. What are you going to use it for? Seems like it is quite versatile.

Sorry about the smith. Hunting accident, still a better way to go than many other.

I bought this in Alta a couple of years ago, only 1200 kr.
Made by a swede. I don`t recall his name tough.

The knife (seax) is really a work of art Wayland. I`m sure that they take good care of it on Borg.
Maybe I visit Borg this summer and have a look at it.

I got my copy of the book from attleborough.
It is a very limited edition , so don't wait too long if you really want it.

Wayland, that is one beautiful piece of work. Is the drawing scrimshaw or carved?

That is a truely stunning piece of work, very Seax like.
