Biker

Bushcrafter (boy, I've got a lot to say!)
Hi Folks,
Here's another of those sweet take down tomahawks I've restored. This one is gorgeous, made by Goldenberg. I'm guessing this one's from the 50's or 60's maybe even earlier based on things I have read, it could be as old as the 1930's.

Anyway this has a brand new handle. I think it's hickory, or could be chestnut. Whatever, it was bought new and shaped using a drawknife to fit the head.

Yours for the princely sum of £25 inc P&P. The only condition I need to state is that I can only post it to you after Easter when I'll be in the UK next.

Interested? Post a reply below and PM me.

Sold, pending funds to Teedee. Thanks.

It's "take down" as you can see. A tap on the shaft and the head slides down and off easily without snagging.

Goldenberg was a VERY good maker of woodcutting tools.

As you can see there's a slight nick in the chin of the cutting edge. You should have seen it when I got it, it looked more like a serrated saw edge. Anyway now it's good and sharp, with an almost polished edge.

Thanks for reading.

oh gawd ! another one for me to drool over !!

gotta say guy's the one i recently aquired from Biker was first class, lovely bit of kit and will be taking over from my GB Mini hatchet. He's a good chap to do business with as well, prompt delivery etc. and at that price it's a bargain ! :)

thanks Biker but please don't show me any more mate !!

I'm saving up for a drawknife so stop showing us these other doodads! BTW. Got a slipstrop too, was a bit disappointed when it turned up looking like a bit of fancy dado rail, but by-eck does it do the job!

mine is a user Samon, real handy bit of kit, i like the take down side of things, i can pack it in the day sack and it's not a "ready to use weapon" if i ever get a tug from Mr. Plod

would this beaut be good as tool? or is it for throwing and looking badass?

Oh it's a user alright, make no mistake. I use mine for all sorts of tasks. Haven't thrown one yet though, seems just "wrong" to do so.

Hey Robbi glad you like yours a lot, thanks for the kind words too.

Mountainm. Stay tuned, I have some drawknifes coming to this forum very soon. If youthought this was tempting you ain't seen nothing yet LOL!!
