Ok folks just looking for advice re frozen food. We had a power outage last night and it was off for 9 hours. Came on while I was asleep, will the food be ok?

Yeah, especially if you have a large freezer and it's pretty full and the door was closed then they're well insulated enough with enough frozen volume to survive 9 hours. Your food probably defrosts more on the way back from the shops than would have happened last night.
Fridges and freezers are more economical and efficient if kept relatively full and the door not opened too often.

What food left on the table of a cold house this time of year would 'go off' in 9 hours let alone an insulated fridge or freezer? None, stop worrying.
