it's actually a "gaucho" knife.
It's the utility knife used by the south american cowboys in their day to day life on the pampas.
and it cost around £25.

Don't care what its called - the sheath would cost more than that to make and it would make a very handy Camp knife for all the larger chores. I bet a lot of us do pack a large chefs knife (I always do when fixed camping and planning to cook in the field).

I like it

Very true, it looks like a cheap stainless steel kitchen knife, looks can be deceptive. This Cuchilla knife happens to be handmade in Argentina, from Carbon Steel SAE 1075. by a maker called Aborihand

Hand made tools/axes seem to be highly regarded on this site over mass-produced stuff. People here favour a hand made Cegga over, a machine made “Spear and Jackson”

OK I concede! No need to get all serious now, I only said it looked like a carving knife, there's no need to through your teddies in the corner!!

So tell me what would you use your expensive Gaucho knife for?

Not expensive at all, £19,99 delivered :)
Use it for what it is made for; butchering meat, preparing food, camp craft, splitting wood, what do you use your knives for?
You do use your knives don’t you????

the first thing i'll use it for is to make a spoon. it's the first thing all my knives do.

a bushcraft knife, to me at least, is any knife i use for bushcraft.
there are many peoples around the world using many different patterns of blade as their day to day cutting tool.
you should see the san bushman knife stuart has. no one on this site would say on first glance that it was a "bushcraft knife" and yet the people who use it day to day have found it perfect for their needs.
just because it doesn't look like a woodlore, it doesn't mean it's not a decent knife.

I dont know much about knives but i know that Gaucho's are very proud of their knives and would use them to defend their honour as well as all the other thing's you would use a big, strong, razor sharp and well made knife for.

I actually like that style of knife... i'm a fan of big knives in general as an experienced user can get a great deal done with one.

I think most peoples have their "big knives" such as bill hooks and parangs and the MOD survival knife :lmao: .

Damn good price too I think.
